DESCRIPTION:

Alkyd enamel is a traditional paint designed for coating wooden and concrete floors in household and utility spaces. It forms a smooth, glossy finish that is resistant to wear and common cleaning agents, providing basic protection. Available in popular colors, it gives the floor a neat, finished appearance. Suitable for moderate operating conditions, it withstands light to medium loads such as furniture movement, foot traffic, and storage.

AREAS OF APPLICATION:

Intended for painting wooden and concrete floors in residential, utility, and household premises with moderate traffic—such as corridors, storage rooms, verandas, balconies, garages, workshops, and summer cottages.

TECHNICAL PARAMETERS:

Colour:yellow-brown, red-brown, light brown , green, grey, anthracite grey
Gloss:gloss
Drying time at +20°C temperatures:Not more than 24 hours
Solids by weight, %51 ÷ 58
Consumption:6÷9 m2/l for one layer.
Solvent:VAITSOL,  white spirit
Tools used for application:Brush, roller.
Storage period:48 months in tightly closed manufacturer’s container

PREPARATION OF PAINT FOR USE:

Before use, mix the enamel thoroughly. If necessary, dilute to working viscosity with white spirit or VAITSOL solvents—up to 8% by volume.

PREPARATION OF SURFACE:

Wooden floors: Remove dust and contaminants; wash thoroughly and dry. If grain raise is present, it is recommended to sand the surface with  sandpaper and thoroughly remove the dust before painting.

Concrete: Concrete should be homogeneous and, ideally, free of modifying additives (polymer dispersions, curing accelerators, hydrophobizing agents, etc.), as such additives may adversely affect the adhesion of the enamel to the substrate. If the exact composition of the concrete is unknown, a trial application on a small test area followed by an adhesion test is required. The absolute moisture content of the concrete must not exceed 4%. New concrete surfaces may be painted no sooner than 28 days after placement, and laitance must be removed (see separate instructions for concrete surface preparation).

When applying the enamel to previously painted surfaces, carefully remove all old, loosely adhered coatings, sand the surface, remove dust, and carry out a trial painting on a small area, followed by a check of intercoat adhesion.

APPLICATION:

Apply the enamel to clean, dry surfaces in 2-3 coats using a brush or roller. The air and substrate temperature should be between +5°C and +35°C. The relative air humidity must not exceed 85%. The second coat may be applied no sooner than 24 hours at +20°C, and the third coat after the first two are fully dry 24–36 hours depending on the thickness of the applied layers.

To avoid shade variations, it is recommended to use enamel from the same production batch for the entire surface.

TOOL CLEANING:

Use VAITSOL  or white spirit solvent for cleaning of tools.

SURFACE CARE:

One week after painting, the surface becomes resistant to washing with cleaning agents intended for wooden floors. Before cleaning, remove loose debris and sand from the floor. Clean using a soft, damp (well-wrung) cloth. Do not scrub or use products containing abrasive particles. Do not leave excess water on the surface for an extended period.
