DESCRIPTION:
Urethane-alkyd enamel with excellent adhesion to wooden and concrete substrates. Forms a semi-gloss finish that, compared to typical alkyd enamels, offers accelerated drying, as well as increased hardness and wear resistance.
AREAS OF APPLICATION:
Designed for painting wooden and concrete floors in residential, public, and storage areas.
TECHNICAL PARAMETERS:
Colour: | Prime Colors: yellow-brown, red-brown, grey, white (A base) which may be tinted in to light shades. C base may be tinted to dark shades using RILAKOLOR tinting system. |
Gloss: | semigloss |
Drying time: | at +20°C temperatureis – 6 hours (at +10°C—8 hours). |
Solids by weight, % | 51 ÷ 62 |
Consumption: | 8÷10 m2/l for one layer. |
Solvent: | SOLVEKS, VAITSOL, white spirit |
Tools used for application: | Brush, roller. |
Storage period: | 48 months in tightly closed manufacturer’s container |
PREPARATION OF PAINT FOR USE:
Before use, mix the enamel thoroughly. If necessary, dilute to working viscosity with white spirit, SOLVEKS, or VAITSOL solvents—up to 7% by volume.
PREPARATION OF SURFACE:
Wooden floors: Remove dust and contaminants; wash thoroughly.
Concrete: Concrete should be homogeneous and, ideally, free of modifying additives (polymer dispersions, curing accelerators, hydrophobizing agents, etc.), as such additives may adversely affect the adhesion of the enamel to the substrate. If the exact composition of the concrete is unknown, a trial application on a small test area followed by an adhesion test is required. The absolute moisture content of the concrete must not exceed 4%. New concrete surfaces may be painted no sooner than 28 days after placement, and laitance must be removed (see separate instructions for concrete surface preparation).
When applying AUREKS 60 to previously painted surfaces, conduct a trial application on a small area and check intercoat adhesion.
APPLICATION:
Apply the enamel to clean, dry surfaces in 2 coats using a brush or roller. The air and substrate temperature should be between +5°C and +35°C. The relative air humidity must not exceed 85%. Drying time at +20°C is 6 hours (at +10°C—8 hours). The second coat may be applied no sooner than 7 hours after the first at +20°C (or 9 hours at +10°C). The maximum recoating interval (before the next coat) is 7 days. If further coats are to be applied after 7 days, or when applying AUREKS 60 to floors previously coated with alkyd enamels, sand the surface with fine abrasive paper to improve intercoat adhesion.
TOOL CLEANING:
Use SOLVEKS, VAITSOL or white spirit solvent for cleaning of tools.
