Application Areas:

Designed for coating concrete surfaces, such as floors in public, industrial, and warehouse spaces; private garages.

Product consists of 2 components :

• Base component – 4 different products: Base TAL, Base TDL, RAL 7030 or RAL 7038.

• Hardener DE.

Before use Base component and Hardener DE must be stirred in proportion 100:20 by weight.

Before start it is recommended to learn Use instruction.

Application conditions:  When working with EPOGRID 500, the temperature of the floor surface must not be lower than +10ºC.

Application:  Before loading the hardener the Base component must be thoroughly stirred until homogeneous!

The course of subsequent operations will be different depending on the intended use of mixture with the hardener.

Version A:

Production of the untinted mixture intended for priming:

Base TDL is mixed with hardener in the weight ratio 100:20, for example, 3,15 kg Base TDL + 0,63 kg Hardener DE. The prepared mixture is intensively and carefully stirred for 5 minutes. Then immediately the mixture is diluted with 15 – 25 % by weight or 25 – 30 % by volume of the solvent 646 or 647 (thus adding about 0,8 – 1,0 l  of solvent). The total volume of prepared mixture for priming will be 3,5 – 3,7 l.

Priming is necessary for those concrete surfaces that have retained their ability for absorption.

Version B:

Production of mixture for  thin layer coating (0,2 – 0,4 mm):

Mix the Base component with hardener in the weight ratio 100:20 . The prepared mixture is intensively and carefully stirred for 5 minutes. Component weight ratios for the two packaging types:

B1) 3,15 kg Base component + 0,63 kg Hardener DE . The total volume of ready-to-use  mixture will be about 2,7 l.

B2)  7,7 kg Base component + 1,54 kg Hardener DE . The total volume of ready-to-use  mixture will be about 6,6 l.

Version C:

Production of mixture for  thick layer coating (1,5 – 3 mm Self Leveling floors):

Mix the Base component with hardener in the weight ratio 100 : 20 , for example, 7,7 kg Base component + 1,54 kg Hardener DE . The prepared mixture is intensively and carefully stirred for no less than 3 minutes. A heated quartz sand fraction of 0,1 – 0,6 mm is added to the mixture, for example, add 5 liters ( 8 kg ) of sand to 6,6 liters of mixture. The total volume of  ready-to-use  mixture will be about  l0 liters. The mixture with the added sand is mixed for about 3 minutes with

slow-speed electric drill equipped with a mixer-type nozzle. Then stand 3 – 5 minutes and the mixture is ready for use.

The ready-to-use mixture should be used within 30 minutes at a 20ºC temperature !

Notes:

• Mixing is done during different stages for 3-5 minutes using an electric drill with a mixer-type It should be taken into account that insufficiently careful mixing of components can become the cause of various defects, including :
• the formation of local unhardened surface areas characterized by reduced mechanical and protective properties,
• surface porosity, which also rapidly reduces the durability and protective properties of EPOGRID 500,
• inhomogenity of surface color tone.
• Epoxy primer EPOPRIM is used for priming metal surfaces.
• When applying a thin layer (0,2 – 0,4 mm) under elevated temperature conditions, it is possible to add solvent 646 or 647 (up to 10 % by volume) in order to slow down the curing speed, as well as to improve coating’s flow property. The solvent must be added to the Base component during the first mixing – BEFORE ADDING THE HARDENER !
• The application of the top coat after priming the surface at a temperature 20ºC can be started not earlier than after 24 hours and not later than after 96 hours.

Maintenance:

The surface is suitable for light pedestrian loading after 36 hours at 20°C temperature. Complete curing – within 7 days.

Do not wet-clean of freshly applied coating during the first 7 days at 20°C.

Contains: bis-[4-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)phenyl]propane, bisphenol F-epoxy resin, oxirane, mono[(C 12-14- alkyloxy)methyl] derivatives. Causes skin irritation. May cause an allergic skin reaction.  Causes serious eye irritation.  Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Keep out of reach of children. Attention! Hazardous inhalable droplets may form when sprayed. Do not inhale the spray or mist. Wash hands and exposed body parts thoroughly after use. Avoid release to the environment. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection. IF SWALLOWED: Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician. IF SWALLOWED: rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. IF ON SKIN (or hair): Remove/Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Collect spillage. Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed. Dispose of contents / container in accordance with local regulations.

The shelf life of the product is 3 years from the date of manufacture. See the date of manufacture on the packaging.

The maximum allowable VOC content for this product in the EU countries (cat. A/j): 500 g/l. The maximum VOC content in the product is 480 g/l.
