Description
Usage
  • Provides long-term protection of mineral material facades
  • High weather resistance and good vapor permeability
  • Resistant to UV radiation
  • Excellent water- and dirt-repellent properties

DESCRIPTION:

Acrylic-siloxane water-dispersion paint. Prevents cracking and peeling of the coating under the influence of various atmospheric factors due to the high elasticity of the film. High resistance to UV radiation ensures a long service life (10–12 years). The siloxane component enhances the moisture resistance of the coating when used in conditions of high humidity and pollution (e.g., coastal areas, industrial zones, and urban environments). Contains fungicides that prevent the appearance of mold, algae, and other microorganisms for up to 10 years.

FIELD OF APPLICATION:

Intended for painting concrete, plastered, and brick exterior surfaces of buildings and structures operated in outdoor conditions. Suitable for repair painting of exterior surfaces previously coated with acrylic water-dispersion paints.  It is also allowed to apply FORSILAN on exterior surfaces previously painted with alkyd enamels. In this case, a preliminary test application on a small area is required, followed by adhesion testing between layers.  DO NOT USE AS A FINISHING COAT INSIDE RESIDENTIAL PREMISES.

TECHNICAL PARAMETERS:

Colour:White (A base) which may be tinted to light shades. C base is colorless used for tinting to dark shades using RILAKOLOR tinting system
Gloss: Matt
Drying time at 20ºC temperature and relative air moisture 50 % :   :Dust- dry – 1 hour.

For applying next layer – 2 hours.

Until water resistance is achieved – 72 hours.

When the temperature drops or the air humidity increases, the

drying  time increases.

– Solids by weight, %65 ± 3 А base; 58 ± 3 С base
Density, g/ml :1,50 ± 0,05
Vapor permeability ( Sd – coefficient of diffusion ability, m )0.20
Consumption:– 8 – 10  m2/litre – on previously primed surfaces

– 6 – 8 m²/litre – on raw surfaces

– 9 – 11 m²/litre – for repair painting surfaces previously coated with alkyd  paints.

Solvent:Water
Tools used for application:Brush, roller, paint sprayer. For airless spray the recommended nozzle diameter is 0,017 — 0,021″.
Storage period:36 months in tightly closed manufacturer’s container at the temperature exceeding +5ºC.

PREPARATION OF PAINT FOR USE:

Before use, stir the paint thoroughly. If necessary, dilute with water to the working viscosity: up to 5% by volume when applying with a brush or roller, and up to 20% by volume when applying by spraying.

SURFACE  PREPARATION:

The surface to be painted must be sound (i.e., free from damage that could affect the painting process or performance), and free of chalk, peeling paint, and contaminants (such as oil residues, salt efflorescence, etc.). Such contaminants must be carefully removed using appropriate cleaning agents. It is essential to identify and eliminate the source of salt or chemical release; otherwise, defects may appear after painting or during use.

If visible mold damage is present, it is recommended to disinfect the surface with an AKVASEPT solution.

Before painting, ensure that freshly plastered surfaces, concrete, and cement-fiber boards are completely dry (the minimum drying time depends on the type of material and the drying conditions).

PRIMING OF SURFACE:

Porous surfaces are recommended to be primed with FORAKRIL BASE primer or sealing FORAKRIL PRIMER. Using FORAKRIL PRIMER provides maximum protection against moisture. It is also permitted to use FORSILAN paint itself for priming, diluted with water up to 15% by volume.

APPLICATION:

The paint is applied in 1–2 coats at an air and surface temperature of at least +5 °C and a relative humidity not exceeding 85%. Optimal conditions are +15 to +25 °C and 50–60% humidity. Single-coat application should be done in one pass—when painting large areas, breaks are only advisable at natural boundaries, such as corners.

Do not paint wet surfaces. Avoid painting in cold, damp (rain, fog, dew), or windy weather, as well as under direct sunlight. Do not paint surfaces that are strongly heated by the sun.

TOOL CLEANING:

Use water for cleaning of tools.
