Water-based acrylate varnish is intended for varnishing wooden surfaces indoors and outdoors. Can be used for covering wooden windows, garden furniture, etc. Forms a semi-matte, semi-translucent film with high resistance of coated surfaces against sticking. The inherent UV filter provides long-term protection of the wood surface and the coating itself against ultraviolet solar radiation. In cases where the wood surface to be varnished needs to be tinted while increasing the weather resistance of the coating, VERSAKRIL can be tinted in the RILAKOLOR system according to the COLTEC WOOD (EC base) catalogue.
Surface preparation. VERSAKRIL may only be applied to clean, dry and dust-free wooden surfaces. Outdoor wood surfaces should be primed with one coat of TEKSTURDEKORS AKVASATIN colourless or tinted paint. VERSAKRIL may be applied on top of TEKSTURDEKORS AKVASATIN only after the latter has dried completely. Priming is not required for indoor wood surfaces. Stir VERSAKRIL thoroughly before use. Dilution to the working viscosity with water (up to 10–20% when applied with a spray gun; 0–5% when applied with a brush) is permitted if necessary. The air and paintable surface temperature must not be lower than +10 ºC. Air relative humidity – not higher than 70%. Apply VERSAKRIL with a brush or spray in 2 coats. Varnish should be applied evenly, preventing local accumulation and formation of a thicker coat. Consumption is 6–7 m²/l per coat. Drying time between applications: not less than 1 hour at 20±2 ºC or not less than 3 hours at 10±2 ºC. Drying time at 20±2 °C: does not stick in 45 minutes, dries completely (subsequent treatment permitted) in 3 hours. Water is also used to clean work tools. Dried VERSAKRIL residue can be removed with acetone or solvent 646. Store in a tightly closed container at a temperature not lower than +5 °C.
