For professional users only. VL-02 is a quick-drying two-component primer, which consists of the main component and acid diluent. A steel surface is phosphated and primed at the same time, thus ensuring particularly strong adhesion to the paintable surface and good protection against corrosion. Intended for priming steel and non-ferrous metal (aluminium and its alloys, galvanized sheet metal and others) products before painting them with various types of enamels (including alkyd, epoxy, vinyl, acrylate, polyurethane and others). It is also recommended to use it for improvement of adhesion between coats when finishing previously painted surfaces.
Stir the main component of the primer thoroughly before use, add the acid diluent in the following ratio: a) when painting steel surfaces, add by weight 1 part of acid diluent to 4 parts of the main component of the primer; b) when painting galvanized surfaces or other non-ferrous metals and their alloys (for example, aluminium), add by weight 1 part of acid diluent to 8 parts of the main component. After mixing the components, cure the primer for 30 minutes and dilute to working viscosity with solvent 646 or 647. After adding the acid diluent, the primer must be used up within 8 hours. Apply in a thin coat on clean and dry surfaces with a spray gun or brush. Drying time at 20±2 °C is 30 minutes. Curing time before applying the enamel is not less than 1 hour and not more than two weeks. Consumption, excluding losses during application, is 12–15 m2/l (65–80 g/m2) per coat with a recommended dry film thickness of 8–10 μm. Store in a tightly closed manufacturer’s container in a cool place, protected from direct sunlight.
