DESCRIPTION:
FURNITURE PRIMER is a nitrocellulose-based primer that tints, equalizes absorbency, and prepares wood surfaces for optimal finishing. It dries quickly, applies easily, and enhances the natural grain of the wood. Can be used in its untinted form or tinted to the desired shade using the “TEMACOLOR SCALA” system. Provides an ideal base for topcoats, ensuring excellent adhesion and an even finish. Prevents resin bleed-through to the surface.
APPLICATION AREA:
Intended for priming and providing the required shade to wooden furniture surfaces and other wood products used indoors prior to finishing with RILAK lacquers: nitro lacquer, AURLAK, DUOKRON. (When using other lacquers, an intercoat compatibility test is required.)
Suitable for:
TECHNICAL PARAMETERS:
Gloss: | Gloss |
Drying time at 20ºC temperature: | 0.5 hour |
Consumption: | 9÷15 m2/l |
Solvent: | Solvent 2290, 646, aceton |
Tools used for application: | Brush, paint sprayer. |
Storage period: | 48 months in tightly closed manufacturer’s container |
Packaging: | 0.9 l; 2.7 l |
PREPARATION OF VARNISH FOR USE:
Mix paint well before application. Thinning is not required.
PREPARATION OF SURFACE:
Clean off any dust, dirt, grease or other contamination and sand as required.
APPLICATION:
Apply a thin coat to clean, dry surfaces using a spray gun or brush, at an ambient and substrate temperature between +5 °C and +30 °C. Relative air humidity should not exceed 85%, and wood moisture content should be no more than 18%.
When tinting softwood surfaces, it is recommended to locally prime knots and other areas with high resin content using untinted FURNITURE PRIMER prior to overall application. After priming, these areas should be sanded. If reduced color intensity is desired, tinted FURNITURE PRIMER may be mixed with untinted product.
Formation of a lacquer film on the primed surface after drying is not permitted. If this occurs, sand the surface until a uniform matte finish is achieved.
TOOL CLEANING:
After work wash painting tools with solvents 2290, 646, aceton.
