URETOP-50 is a two-component polyurethane semi-gloss enamel with exceptionally high weather resistance for long-term protection of metal surfaces against corrosion outdoors (including in marine and industrial environment). The enamel forms a semi-gloss, hard and wear-resistant coating that retains excellent decorative and protective properties over a long period of use (up to 15 years with proper treatment of the paintable surface and primer selection). Can be used in painting when repairing transport and other machinery. Tinted in the TEMACOLOR SCALA system (TDL). Recommended painting schemes are given in Table 1.
Stir the base component of the enamel thoroughly before use. Add hardener in a ratio of 100:21. After mixing, the enamel is ready for use by painting with a brush, roller or airless spray equipment (with a nozzle diameter of 0.011″–0.017″). When painting with a spray gun, the enamel is diluted with solvent 2290 or butyl acetate – not more than 15–20% of the enamel volume. These solvents are also used to wash work tools. The enamel with added hardener must be used up within 6 hours. Apply the enamel in 1–2 coats. The air and paintable surface temperature must not be lower than +10 °C, air relative humidity – not higher than 75%. Drying time between coats is not less than 4 hours at (20±2)°C (or 12 hours at +10°C). Dries completely within 16 hours at 20±2 °C (or 24 hours at +10 °C). Coating reaches maximum hardness after 4 days. The consumption of URETOP-50 enamel is shown in Table 2.
